Brazilian Waxing

The professional beauty therapists at the RMUK Hair and Beauty Salon in Leeds are all highly trained in the wide variety of methods used for waxing.

Salon WaxingEvery one of our clients has a different expectation of what is involved in a Brazilian wax. Some clients only wish to have the removal of any hair around the bikini line, others may wish to have a particular shape left on the front and some may wish to have all pubic hair removed totally, our highly trained staff can happily create the look you want.

The quality of wax used for Brazilian waxing is very important and we only use waxes that are perfect for your skin to ensure the procedure does not cause increased redness and skin trauma to the immediate area of skin affected.

By applying hot wax, the RMUK beauty therapist will effectively and efficiently remove hairs from the pubic area so that the end result is what you specifically require.

RMUK specialise in Brazilian treatments and ensure that you are totally relaxed and comfortable. Any questions can be addressed before and during the treatment.

After care is very important and the RMUK professional beauty therapists will make recommendations of how to maintain the Brazilian wax and at what stage to return to the salon for your next treatment.Laura Moura

Dermalogica Body Mapping

By RMUK on June 23rd, 2008

Dermalogica Body Mapping

Dermalogica Body Mapping, avaiable at the RMUK Dermalogica platinum salon in Leeds, is a revolutionary approach to skin analysis developed by The International Dermal Institute exclusively for Dermalogica.

Dermalogica Body MappingNow professional RMUK Dermalogica platinum salon skin therapists have a comprehensive technique with which to analyze every aspect of your bodies skin, dramatically enhancing not only the effectiveness of every treatment, but also making the prescription of a home care regimen to focus on the your actual needs as possible. The Dermalogica Body Mapping procedure provides the RMUK Dermalogica platinum salon therapist with an objective view of your bodies skin’s condition, as well as an indication of the underlying health issues that might be affecting you. Rather than analyzing the skin in general terms, Dermalogica Body Mapping divides the body into fourteen distinct zones, each with its own set of potential problems and unique needs. Using the zones and the Dermalogica Body Map as a guide, the RMUK Dermalogica platinum salon therapist is able to conduct an inch-by-inch, methodical analysis of your bodies landscape, guaranteeing that the subsequent professional treatment and home-care prescription will fully address your concerns.

Dermalogica Body Mapping is available at the RMUK Hair and Beauty Salon Leeds.

Body TreatmentsTherapeutic massage.

The RMUK Therapeutic massage is the manual manipulation of the soft tissues and joints of the body to achieve specific goals. Deeper massage decreases tension by lengthening muscle tissue, tendons and ligaments and increases joint mobility. Lighter techniques allow an increase in lymphatic movement throughout the body. All massages enhances circulation, relaxes tight structures and improves tissue health.

Salt Glow Massage

The salts stimulate circulation and remove dead skin cells that block pores and dull the skin, thereby improving the health of the skin. Sea salt, herbs, powdered algae, and dried botanicals are combined to smooth and detoxify the skin, hydrate and re-mineralize.

Bio Sculpture Gel Nails

By RMUK on June 23rd, 2008

Bio Sculpture Gel Nails

You may be overworked and harried, but if your nails look like those of a film star who whiles away her days with shopping and facials, then Fabulous. Feel just as pampered as a super model, we all can have beautiful hands and feet, so why not give yours a treat.

Bio Sculpture Gel NailsManicures.

Nothing will chip or break your nails after this manicure. Applied in gel form, you effectively have fake nails painted on top of your own, looking incredable and completely natural. The gel dries under UV light, which means they are hard before you can even leave the salon. If you want long lasting beautiful nails, then this is for you.

The genius of the gel is that it only comes off with a special solvent, so you can paint any varnish over it and wipe it off without affecting your Bio Sculpture manicure underneath. The Bio Sculpture Gel is a tough, waterproof, chip-proof and scratch resistant.

The manicure grows out from the root, but after about two weeks you can fill this in with take home products or have infills done at the RMUK salon, giving you another two or three weeks. Lengthening nails is possible too, with your RMUK technician building a gel sculpture using thin layers of gel.

Pedicures

Your Feet are cleansed, cuticles shaped and the Executive Base, a simple nail protector, is painted on. The Bio Sculpture Gel is painted across the nail. It is set under a UV lamp for two minutes, then gently buffed. This permanent pedicure is quick and the colour does not chip or flake.

The Bio Sculpture Gel is a tough, waterproof, chip-proof and scratch resistant finish which retains it’s colour. So you can jump in the shower after a day on the beach before going out in strappy sandals or flip-flops, no longer be ashamed of your feet.Laura Moura

Salon Interior Design

By RMUK on June 23rd, 2008

Creating Well Being and Relaxation.

We love to contribute to sustainability.

When designing the salon the aim of Laura and I was to create an environment of well being and relaxation, with aesthetically pleasing spaces for clients and staff. We wanted to create an atmosphere using sustainable environmental materials to conceive an alternative to conventional interior design.

We carefully evaluated each stage of the development to make sure we have the least impact on our planet’s already fragile resources.

Our research led us to a furniture manufacturing company in the city of Modena in Italy whose philosophy was innovation in processes and product, supported by the idea that art and technology are inseparable. They used sustainable sourced materials to make beautiful Philippe Starck designed pieces.

Philippe Starck is the French designer famous for producing innovative pieces and creative interior hairdresser salon furniture.

Our first purchases were our dressing units created from aluminium cans with glass and mirrors from recycled wine bottles, wooden pieces from recycled wood waste, and chairs covers from plastic trays. The dressing units were designed to be moveable allowing us to create open spaces for parties and special events.

Our next project was the building structure itself and we commissioned The Leeds Architects DLG Diamond Grabonsky to develop our ideas and bring back the internal features to there original early 20th century design.

The salons main structural feature was the solid mahogany stairs to the mezzanine level which were restored as the main interior focal point. The balustrade which Laura and I designed took its inspiration from bicycle wheels.

And so began the conception and realization of our dreams.Roberto Moura

The Salon is today a “Flagship L’Oreal Salon”
